The Bassoon Reed Case
The Case
The development of the 20 reeds case began with an idea suggested by my bassoon teacher and grew from my own need for a reed case that could be spacious, durable, functional, and visually refined at the same time.
Over the past years, I have worked on every aspect of its design, carefully refining the materials, magnets, soft reed-holding strip, hinges and screws, and ventilation system. Each element has evolved through personal experience and valuable feedback from friends and fellow musicians.
Crafted with Care
Handcrafted and 3D printed, each reed case is designed to keep your bassoon reeds safely protected. Every case is fully customizable, from the choice of silk to the option of adding a personalized name inside.
The case features four neodymium magnets, securely embedded into the structure to prevent them from coming loose or getting lost. The two halves are joined by two steel hinges, fixed in place with a total of eight screws.
Functional ventilation openings along the edges allow proper airflow inside the case, helping your reeds dry correctly.
Room for Every Reed
The case is designed to maximize capacity while minimizing space, keeping up to 20 reeds organized and protected in an extremely compact, lightweight, and elegant design without unnecessary bulk. The reeds are individually spaced inside the case, with enough room between them to reduce contact and keep each reed safely in place as much as possible.
A Touch of Silk
Available in black and white PETG, each reed case is enriched with authentic Chinese silk, personally sourced in Yinchuan, China. Every case is assembled and finished by hand, making each piece unique and giving it its own distinctive character and refined finish.
The case, as it exists today, is the result of this entire process: a reed box that brings together everything I personally want in a case, literally designed in my own bedroom and developed through countless experiments and continuous refinement, a process that is still ongoing today.
